Community Support

From schools to substance abuse committees. From youth sports to senior programs. Since 1996, Financial Horizons has donated thousands of dollars to community groups and projects through our Pennies Count Fund. Credit union members and employees give generously to make Nevada communities better places to live.

Harnessing the power of pennies. It just makes sense.

In 1996, Financial Horizons created the Pennies Count Fund to help school projects in Mineral County. The original money came from members donating the odd cents when they cashed a check or had money directly deposited. The program has expanded over the years as our credit union has expanded to other counties. The bottom line is that Nevada has needs. And it has residents with big hearts.

  • Fundraising efforts at branches now include book sales, bake sales and raffles
  • Our staff members donate $1 each week so they can wear jeans to work on Fridays
  • Our Yerington, Fallon and Winnemucca branches have their own drives and donate proceeds to groups in their home communities
  • Funds are distributed to worthy organizations at our Annual Meeting each year in April
